Kendal mountain festival is the UK’s premier mountain film festival; it is an award winning and the most diverse event of its type in the world. The vision is to inspire more people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures. Saturday 19th November 2016
Every year on the third Saturday in November the people of Ambleside parade through the town at dusk, carrying hundreds of paper lanterns. A range of all ages turn up to the event and to witness this spectacular procession, as traffic is halted and Christmas street lights throughout the town centre are switched on as if by magic Santa Claus was about to arrive. Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November 2016
The Dickensian Christmas Festival, is an annual event and had over 12,000 visitors last year the event keeps getting bigger and better, they have loads of stalls that you can get you’re perfect Christmas gift from and have a variety of food and refreshments where you can get mulled wine. The event gives of a really nice and warm atmosphere as those who own the stall dress up in Dickensian outfits and the event runs all day. Information on the event can be found on their website.
