Suzanne & Dan' s Special Day
Meeting in Hull back in October 2013, Suzie and Dan have since worked and travelled around
the world, including Italy, Germany and California.
After their engagement in June 2021 in Maui, Hawaii, they decided that their wedding must be close to water yet easily accessible for both families, so they set their sights on the beautiful Lake District. Finding a venue which was a suitable size for an intimate wedding of just 30 wasn't the easiest task.
Yet after Suzie stumbled upon pictures of the beautiful Hilltop Room, Lindeth Howe soon became a top contender without having even been viewed. In October 2021, the pair were finally able to make it back to the UK to begin their search in person, and after visiting several venues around Lake Windermere, Lindeth Howe became their firm favourite due to its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful furnishings, friendly staff and its perfect size.
Their August 1st 2023 wedding was booked just weeks later and from then on the planning continued. Living abroad made planning more unusual than many weddings but the flexibility of Clare and Liz helped keep them calm and excited for their upcoming nuptials.
The couple enjoyed their menu-tasting a whole year before their special day and struggled to decide on which of the fantastic menu choices to choose. They also reflect now on this time as the perfect opportunity to see the venue at the same time of year as their wedding.
Arriving the night before their wedding day, Suzie and Dan ran through their final details of the day and welcomed their families and friends to the venue. Excited for what was to come, the bar hosted a perfectly unplanned cocktail hour with their nearest and dearest.
On the morning of the wedding, both families were able to enjoy their breakfast separately in keeping with tradition, before the day's preparations began in earnest. The couple had hoped to marry under the gazebo, but the outlook didn't look great and a final decision for the ceremony to take place inside was made.
Clare and Liz made the whole day run perfectly! Nothing was too much trouble and the couple were able to enjoy their special day surrounded by their closest family and friends. To make the day even more perfect, the sun shone whenever necessary!
The couple left the venue and the UK just days later for their next adventure in the Caribbean, yet look back on the happiest day of their lives with great fondness. “We could not have chosen a better venue for our day!
