Once again Country Fest is here!
Country Fest is a fantastic weekend event just off Junction 36 of the M6 at Crooklands, only a 25 minute drive from the hotel.
A fantastic weekend of countryside activities, spectacular demonstrations, delicious local food and drink and much more await visitors to Country Fest.
Alongside all the usual favourites, Country Fest has a host of new attractions this year including the poultry show on Saturday, and rabbit show in Sunday the demo area will be packed with daring demonstrations from Jez Avery's stunt show, hilariously fun Terrier racing and Ferret racing.
Celebrating the region's excellent reputation for quality culinary delights, Country Fest goers can both try and buy a variety of outstanding local produce from exhibitors in the food zone and enjoy demonstrations in the food theatre.
A visit to the 'Why Farming Matters' marquee to learn more about where our food comes from: meet all sorts of farm animals, see sheep shearing demos and 'Meet a Farmer' plus they will be welcoming back the Cumbria young farmers tug of war county final.
It will be hard to tear the family away from the packed demo arena, but make sure not to miss the SmileFactor10's stunning kite displays (kids are reminded to bring teddies, for the death-defying teddy bear parachute drop).
The vintage revival marquee will have everything you need for your vintage wedding, wardrobe and home, plus craft demonstrations throughout the weekend, and new for this year is the 1970's vintage caravan converted into a pop-up mobile vintage hair and powder room.
There are lots more activities on over the weekend, making this an event not to be missed.
I shall be there on the Saturday to see what is going on and I have signed my husband up for the 'Sausage making workshop' he is convinced that 'Bateman's Bangers' are about to take Cumbria by storm... at only £10.00 per person, it will keep him quiet for a while, giving me a chance to tour the festival in peace!
I hope to see lots of you there!
There will be pictures to follow.... hopefully there will be one of husband having won a rosette for 'Best Sausage', however having eaten his cooking for nearly 20 years, I somehow doubt it!
