Our Garden in February

Our Garden in February

Our Head Gardener Mark has been busy over the last couple of months looking after our 6 acres of beautiful grounds! The Lake District is well known for its weather and in the words of Alfred Wainwright:

“There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing."

And that's certainly the attitude Mark has, you'll find him outside in all weathers! Hear from Mark below as he describes what is happening in our Garden this February!

February has arrived and despite, snow, rain and high winds; it looks like Spring won't be far behind.

The snowdrops are adding a touch of pure white elegance to the subdued borders and beds.

Tiny crocuses are poking through now and bringing colour to the beds and garden tubs.

The first daffodils are nodding gently in the breeze hopefully greeting the arrival of warmer weather.

Winter may not quite be done with yet, but the garden is slowly rousing itself ready for a glorious Spring.

Why not pop by for a coffee or a bite to eat? And take in the wonders of our gardens!
