When you book your walking holiday with us you will receive one of the best guide books for the region. Written by Jim Flemming, an ex boatman on Lake Windermere, the book is a collection of 13 short walks based in the local area. There are strolls and rambles to many of the local beauty spots and historic locations including Stott Park Bobbin Mill, Hill Top, Wray Castle, Claife Viewing Station and Dove Cottage. None of the walks are too difficult for beginners to attempt but also provide enough variety to entertain even the most seasoned walkers. You can create your own itinerary from the book or why not talk to our staff to get some tips on the best ones to pick and some hidden gems to look out for.
Before you head out for the day you can fuel up with one of our traditional Cumbrian breakfasts, giving you the energy you need for the morning. We will provide you with a packed lunch so you can stop wherever you want on your walk and enjoy some great food. At the end of the day you can relax in our lounges in front of a warm fire, or enjoy a ‘cool down’ stroll around our own glorious gardens which cover 6 acres. You’ll also have free access to our facilities including an indoor pool and fitness room, and a treatment room to help ease any tired muscles. After building up an appetite in the great outdoors you’ll be ready for your meal in our award winning restaurant.
