The Tale of Miss Potter (14 miles/22.8 km) ***NEW FOR 2013***

On this fabulous tour by electric bicycle we visit three places associated with Beatrix Potter – Wray Castle, die Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead, and Hill Top at Near Sawrey.

We start at Bowness-on-Windermere (Glebe Road) for induction and cycling practice on electric bikes. After crossing the lake by ferry, we travel along the western shore of Windermere (largely traffic-free) to Wray Castle for a tour of the house and gardens. From there we head to Hawkshead, enjoying stunning views along the way. After visiting the Beatrix Potter Gallery and lunch, we take the quieter road around Esthwaite Water to Hill Top. Here we beat the queues and have a mid-afternoon visit to Beatrix Potter’s much-loved home. From there it’s downhill wheeling back to the ferry landing and Bowness-on-Windermere.
