Where to go... What to do...

We understand that holiday time is precious time and you want to make the most of it, we have been asking our guests what they have done on their holiday that they would recommend others do on their stay, and we have had some amazing suggestions:

Ambleside the old bank house chocolate shop
Ambleside waterfalls. Walking boots essential and ready for a good climb.
Wray Castle - we took the car ferry over as a foot passenger £1 each way - Great deal
Sizergh Castle, Grange Over Sands
Cartmel and Grange over Sands.
Levens Hall Gardens near Kendal
Elterwater and Coniston
Holehird Gardens
The Mountain Goat Tour
Take the nearby ferry over the water to the Hawkshead side of the lake and walk to Wray Castle. Beautiful undisturbed scenery.
We visited a number of attractions including the Vintage car museum in Newby Bridge, very interesting, and COVID safe. Another place to visit would be the Jetty Museum in Windermere, an excellent attraction. Would recommend both venues.
The Pencil Museum at Keswick
Windermere Golf Club
Walked up to Brant Fell viewpoint. Superb views and great for a picnic Took the ferry across the lake then walked to Wray Castle following the Lakeshore. 12-mile round trip but mostly flat.
Nice walks up Orrest Head and Loughrigg
Grasmere Rydal water walk
We enjoy the trip on the ferry to the western shore and walking by the lake and through the woods there.
Tarn Hows - so beautiful, and the sun was shining!
Claife Viewing Station
Blackwell House
World of Beatrix Potter
